Subrahmanya Sashti significance:
Subrahmanya Sashti is dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya and also known as Skanda Subrahmanya Sashti. This is an important festival for Hindus which is observed on the Sashti (6th day) tithi during the Shukla Paksha in the month of ‘Margashira’. This day is also known as ‘Subrahmanya Champa Sashti’. It marks the triumph of Lord Subrahmanya over the demon ‘Tarakasura’.
Subrahmanya Kalyanam :
Subrahmanya Swami is considerd the god of fertility and is worshipped in human form or in the form of snake. Newly married couples pray in large number to perform “Subrahmanya Swami Kalyanam’ on Sashti (6th day) tithi during the Shukla Paksha in the month of ‘Margashira’.
