Sri Yadavendra Teertha

INTRODUCTION:

Sri Yadavendra Teertha (16th century AD) was a contemporary of Sri Raghavendra Teertha, and his Guru was Sri Sudheendra Teertha, and his disciple was Sri Lakshminatha Teertha.

Sri Sudheendra Teertha taught him various divine subjects and gave him sainthood, and after that Sri Yadavendra Teertha went for Holy Pilgrimages.  After visiting several holy temples, he visited Kumbakonam and met Sri Raghavendra Teertha who was the pontiff of the Kumbakonam mutt.

Raghavendra Teertha invited him to Kumbakona Vidyapeeta and requested him to take charge of the Vibudendra Tirtha Mutt.  But Yadavendra was not interested in the pontiff seat and he was only interested in travelling to various holy temples and visiting the deities.  He further told that Raghavendra Swamy only was the capable person to perform puja to Moolarama.   Yadavendra Tirtharu then went on to holy pilgrimages.

After some time, he entered Samadhi at Mudamalu on the banks of River Krishna.

Let us worship the great guru and be blessed.
