Gurumayi Chidvilasananda

INTRODUCTION :

Gurumayi Chidvilasananda is the spiritual head of the Siddha Yoga movement. She was the disciple of Swami Muktananda, and her birth name was Malti Shetty. Malti was born near Mangalore in the year 1955, and her parents were devotees of Swami Muktananda, and due to that, she received initiation from Muktananda at her younger age itself, and stayed at his ashram and become his disciple.  

She is a disciplined girl, and learned all the spiritual subjects from Swami Muktananda, and she also participated with him during his religious tours. In the year 1982, she has become a saint, and came to be known as Swami Chidvilasananda. After the death of her guru, she became the spiritual head of the Yoga movement. Chidvilasananda gave divine lectures and conducted Yoga classes in India as well as in foreign countries. She awakened the Kundalini energy and also trained her disciples to awaken the Kundalini Shakti. She is considered as one of the best Yoga Gurus in India, and guided the people in doing yoga and meditation. Chidvilasananda wrote spiritual and yoga books and it was published by famous publishing agencies. She has done lot of welfare activities for the people, and performed free eye surgery for thousands of poor and old people.
