Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami

INTRODUCTION :

Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami  is  the 36th Jagadguru of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, the famous mutt established for spreading the Sanatana Dharma. His birth name was Seetharama Anjaneyalu. He was born in a brahmin family in a village in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, and he was born in the year 1951 due to the blessings of Lord Shiva, and apart from his basic education, he studied Sanskrit and Vedas, from his father.

In the year 1966, Sri Anjaneyalu met the pontiff of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji and sought his blessings. He accepted him as his disciple and keenly observed his interest in spiritual matters. Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji gave sainthood to Sri Anjaneyalu in the year 1974, and from then onwards, he was named as Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami.

Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami used to perform puja to Lord Shiva in a remarkable manner. Lot of devotees used to visit the mutt in order to get his divine blessings. Swamigal was proficient in regional languages and used to converse in various languages with the devotees who visit him from various parts of India. He also undertook religious tours and worshipped the divine deities in the holy temples throughout India. Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami appointed Sri Kuppa Venkateshwara Prasada Sharma as his successor in the year 2015 and gave him the sainthood name Sri Vidhusekhara Bharati Mahaswami.
