Guhai Namasivaya’s disciple was Guru Namasivaya who was also an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, and done great service to his guru till his death.

LIFE

Guhai Namasivaya was born in Karnataka to a holy Virasaivite family. At his younger age itself, he was very sincere in doing puja to Lord Shiva at his home and in the temples, and contains very good knowledge in all the subjects, and he was not attached to worldly matters. He left his home at his younger age due to his thirst of seeking spiritual knowledge, and became the disciple of Sri Sivananda Desikar, a Virasaiva Saint at Sri Sailam, Andhra Pradesh. He served him with selfless devotion, and attained great spiritual knowledge through him. After some time, with his guru’s permission, he went to Tiruvannamalai and settled down in a cave.

He also learned Yoga siddhis from his guru. He used to be in the river for a long time by chanting the “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA MANTRA”. He also used to fly in the sky through his yogic powers. He used his powers in removing the diseases of the people, and propagated the importance of Shiva worship among them. According to him, Lord Shiva is everything, and would always keep him in his mind, even while sleeping, having food, and talking to others. He didn’t waste even a second without thinking about him. He was such a great devotee of Lord Shiva, and we cannot find such a kind of person in this present day modern world.  He has done many charitable activities to the devotees of Lord Shiva, and to the poor people like providing food, educating their children, and making necessary shelters for their comfortable life through the money which he got it from the rich people as donation.

It is believed that after his death, he has become one of the divine attendants of Lord Shiva and residing in the Kailasa and doing service to Lord Parameswara and Mata Parameswari.

Let us worship the great Shaivite saint and be blessed.
