Aryaka

INTRODUCTION :

Aryaka was a divine snake, who is living in King Vasuki's palace, situated in the Patala Loka. He was an ancestor of the Pandavas, and the great grand-father of Mata Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas. When Bhima was poisoned, and thrown out into River Ganges by Duryodhana, he was rescued by the mighty Aryaka, and he recognized Bhima as his great grandson, and brought him to the palace of Vasuki. And he took care of Bhima in a proper manner, and made him as healthy by giving their divine drink, and after few days, he safely took him to the earth, and accompanied with him till his place. It is believed that during the Dwapara Yuga, Lord Krishna had visited Aryaka at his palace in the Naga Lok along with Balarama and blessed him.

Aryaka is born in the clan of Kauravya. Aryaka's grandson Sumuka was married with Lord Indra’s charioteer Mathali’s daughter Gunakesi.

Aryaka was also related with the other famous snakes like Karkotaka and Takshaka. He lives in the Naga Kingdom, and he was mentioned in various Puranas and in other divine texts. He is considered as a minister to the Snake King Vasuki, and discharges his duties in an efficient manner. By worshipping him, and by chanting his name, we would get relieved from several poisonous diseases and from several dreaded viruses.

Let us worship the Divine snake deity and be blessed.
