Bhanumati

INTRODUCTION :

Bhanumati is a noble character in Mahabharata. She was the daughter of king Chitrangada and Queen Chandramudra, and she was the wife of Duryodhana. Though her consort Duryadhana contains bad behaviour, she was a chaste and a worshipful lady and a dutiful wife. She had given proper suggestions to her consort Duryodhana to avoid enmity with Pandavas, but he didn’t accept her suggestion. She looks very beautiful and was very calm and intelligent lady. She treated Karna as her own brother and used to play dice with him. Karna’s wife and Bhanumati were very good friends, and they maintained good relationship till their end of life.

She was a sincere devotee of Lord Krishna, but she didn’t express it to others. She knows that Lord Krishna is none other than the avatar of Lord Vishnu, and contains great respect and showed much sincerity and affection, and when Lord Krishna visited the palace of Duryodana, she had welcomed Lord Krishna in a pleasing manner to the palace, and offered her prayers and provided rich food items to him.

Let us worship Mata Bhanumati and be blessed.
