INTRODUCTION :
Somappa Swamigal, was a great saint who was born in Madurai, and at his teenage, he went to Thirukkoodal Malai, Madurai, and settled there. He was taken care by the great saint Sri Mayandi Swamigal and his devotee Irulappa Konar. He was properly fed by Sri Irulappa Konar and his descendants.
Somappa Swamigal has got many devotees, and would affectionately call his devotees using their own name, even without asking their names. He has done this, through his great spiritual powers. He has blessed his devotees with all sorts of prosperities in their life.
Somappa Swamigal was very much attached to Mayandi Swamigal, and together, they used to frequently discuss spiritual matters.
He has attained Mahasamadhi in the year 1968 and his Samadhi Shrine is situated in Thirukkoodal Malai. His annual aradhana day is celebrated in the Tamil month of Aani and large number of devotees would visit his holy shrine in order to get his divine blessings.
