SRI GANESHA ASHTAKAM

INTRODUCTION: 

Sri Ganesha Ashtakam was written by the great Saint Sri Adi Shankaracharya in praise of Lord Vinayaka. Lord Vinayaka is the obstacle remover, and he is considered to be the first god. By reciting this Stotra regularly, we would get all kinds of prosperity in our lives, and we would get the full grace of Lord Ganesha.


The contents contained in the Ganesha Ashtakam are as follows:

My humble Salutations to the elephant God who contains very beautiful, and he can be compared to thousand Manmadas, with regard to his beauty, and he is the leader of Ganas, has only one tusk, contains a very big body, and he holds the entire universe in his stomach, and in his trunk, the divine nectar, Amirtha permanently flows.

My humble Salutations to the First God Lord Vinayaka, who wears the divine serpent as sacred thread, and who wears flower garlands and golden ornaments, and let him shower his grace on us.

My Humble Salutations to the elephant God, who has formed through the powers of Ma Parvathi and hence he showers his grace similar to his mother Ma Shakti Devi.

My humble Salutations to the elephant God, who could not be destroyed by any one, and who had obtained boons from various gods, and who is the one, who fills happiness in the minds of his devotees.

My respectful Salutations to the God, who is very compassionate to the children, and who is worshipped by people of all ages, and he has lot of temples throughout the world.

My Humble Salutations to the God who rides on the divine mouse, and who is a powerful god with great valour.

My Humble Salutations to the God who is worshipped by divine people like, the Yakshas, Kinnaras, Kimburudas, Gandharvas, Saranars,Sidhas and Vidhyadharas.

My Humble Salutations to the god, who fulfils the desires of the devotees, and makes them to prosper in their lives.

Those who recite this beautiful stotra of Lord Ganesha, would be relieved from their sins, and would reach the abode of Lord Vinayaka, THE GANESA LOKA.
