INTRODUCTION :
Swami Ramdas (1884–1963) was an Indian saint. His birth name was Vittal Rao.
LIFE :
Ramdas was born in Kanhangad, in Kerala, India. Though he was married, he was interested in spirituality. And he began to chant the Rama Mantra, for getting relief from physical and mental tension. Soon he chanted “RAMA MANTRA -"Om Sri Ram jai Ram jai, jai Ram" for several lakhs of times. He left his family at a younger age, and started visiting several temples throughout india. He had his food by taking alms. After some time, he met Ramana Maharshi at his Ashram at Tiruvannamalai. Anandashram was founded by his disciples, to improve the living standard of the people, and also it shares the teachings of Swami Ramdas.
FAMOUS DISCIPLES :
1. Mataji Krishnabai 2. Swami Satchidananda 3. Swami Muktananda 4. Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ramdas died in 1963.

1. Always chant Rama Mantra. It will do goodness to your soul and to your body.
2. Work hard and rest you leave it to god. He will do the best for you.
3. Similar to loving god, love and give respect to others also.
4. Always have faith on god and don’t lose your patience.
5. Do some sort of charity work. It will please you as well as god.
6. Earn money honestly. Don’t cheat others.
7. Control your mind and senses. Don’t get angry and always be happy.
8. Forget about past unnecessary things, since it will kill your present life, and make you to feel uncomfortable.
9. Respect your parents and provide all the necessities to them, and take care of them in a proper manner.
IMPORTANCE :
Swami Ramdas was a great preacher of hindu philosophy and a learned scholar and a master in all hindu scriptures. He has pacified the people through his lectures. He was a great guru who guided the people and showed them the divine path of spirituality.
CONCLUSION :
A great devotee of Lord Rama, and explained the benefits of chanting the Rama Mantra to his followers. He was a staunch devotee of Lord Rama and has dedicated his entire time towards devoting him. Let us pray to the great guru and be blessed.
